That "back" definitely doesn't want to spend the rest of its life looking at a wall. Although, if you did make it as a wall hanging, I suppose you could turn it around every so often. I vote to make it reversible, or find another backing for the first quilt and make the second a quilt on it own.
CathyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5129170031725082816.post-67306009244477535032016-03-24T19:00:56.714-04:002016-03-24T19:00:56.714-04:00Oh my goodness, Luann, you have a 2nd quilt top go...Oh my goodness, Luann, you have a 2nd quilt top going! The first top is stunning and now your second one is so lovely as well. I hope you keep going and have 2 quilts. I love the colors and the NY Beauty blocks you've done. I hope you do other backings and keep both pieces of work for a front. :) (from TQS)Juleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07744934071003824168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5129170031725082816.post-47998598736522265612016-03-24T11:07:08.198-04:002016-03-24T11:07:08.198-04:00First of all thanks for the nomination. Even before you put those two strips on it, I thought it needed to be out front. So I vote for you making it into another quilt or wall hanging.Lyndahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05596357437827549883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5129170031725082816.post-33955742946750220402016-03-22T20:55:02.830-04:002016-03-22T20:55:02.830-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Wendy Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17743850234827928341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5129170031725082816.post-86953095447877092992016-03-22T15:37:46.643-04:002016-03-22T15:37:46.643-04:00I do LOVE the back, honestly, even more than the f...I do LOVE the back, honestly, even more than the front. I thought so when you first posted it on the forums, but that is just me. If it were going to be a lap quilt/couch throw/bed quilt, I'd say make it a reversible quilt. Since you plan the real front to be a wall hanging, and this lovely back never get the light of day.....well, I'd not be able to.

OR, another option, instead of a hanging sleeve at the back, can you do a hanging pocket at the top (similar to a curtain has) so that it can become a reversible wall hanging? Or too much trouble...??

Whatever you do, I know it will be wonderful! I really like it as a quilt top :-) BUT do you want to do another project...that it's the question (I would, but I only have one quilt I've made)

DorothyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5129170031725082816.post-63421465110806132352016-03-22T10:16:49.418-04:002016-03-22T10:16:49.418-04:00Luann, I outright giggled when I read that you wer...Luann, I outright giggled when I read that you were considering your back to become a top! I had that similar tug with my blueberry/lime quilt. What decided it for me was that I have at least five projects fairly close to the top stage. Some are large projects. The question I asked myself was did I want to have another project to quilt on my domestic or did I want to play with these other projects? I decided I didn't need to be making another whole quilt. Mine is a lap quilt size so I can enjoy one side one time and the other side the next! I look forward to what other people have to say! By the way, your quote of the day is one of my favorites and it is TRUE! Happy quilting!!!--TerryTerryKnott.blogspot.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02797650304123541113noreply@blogger.com
