We'd never give our best friend as much grief as we give ourselves for taking the time to accomplish what we want! We need to treat ourselves with kindness. I'll be back in a couple of days with an update. I realized that I can use a collage app to put several pictures in one spot. That should save me some space, and money, when I print my next book!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. -Luann Luann Fischerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04888586396647824524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5129170031725082816.post-18908588724575883382016-01-12T22:56:27.079-05:002016-01-12T22:56:27.079-05:00Luann, I also do a lot of thinking, stitching, rip...Luann, I also do a lot of thinking, stitching, ripping, thinking, redrawing, stitching, and repeat! This year, I'm really working on being positive about what I'm doing instead of berating myself for falling behind my list. Good for you to have some little projects going on the side so that you can continue to move forward! I do the same type of thing. I look forward to seeing your next report!--TerryTerryKnott.blogspot.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02797650304123541113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5129170031725082816.post-48667502365160287562016-01-12T12:55:51.168-05:002016-01-12T12:55:51.168-05:00Monica,

It's not like buying a kit and following the instructions - we have to decide shape, size, colour and so on. I know some people can do this as they go along but I'm not one of them.
Another thing I do if I'm stuck on a project is to make a detailed list of what has to be done, breaking it done into small steps. Then it doesn't seem so daunting.Monicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03242088852964565802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5129170031725082816.post-4073732851237230782016-01-11T12:18:29.259-05:002016-01-11T12:18:29.259-05:00I can so identify with the more time thinking than...I can so identify with the more time thinking than doing. I wish I could totally follow this - a finished project, however imperfect it may be, is more enjoyable than a perfect idea of what could be done!
Luann Fischerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04888586396647824524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5129170031725082816.post-46824866337520701992016-01-10T22:17:01.852-05:002016-01-10T22:17:01.852-05:00The blahs are a big problem for me - and tripping ...The blahs are a big problem for me - and tripping over 2-inch waves. I'll explain the 2-inch waves first. I remember hearing that Donald Campbell, while attempting to set a water speed record, was killed when his boat crashed after hitting a 2-inch wave. It sounded incredible that something so small could have such a major effect. My 2-inch waves don't have anywhere as much impact but they stop me in my tracks. It could be something incredibly simple - needing an extra item or trying to master a technique. I then spend an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out what to do next.
However, I usually have a knitting and embroidery project on hand to pick up. Unfortunately, my current knitting project is a basket weave scarf in 2-ply silk on hat pins (well, 1.25mm needles) and it is much harder to do than thicker knitting.
The bottom line is that I spend a lot of time thinking about what I'm going to do, rather than doing it.
MonicaMonicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03242088852964565802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5129170031725082816.post-24616656844115839082016-01-10T20:34:28.026-05:002016-01-10T20:34:28.026-05:00Monica,

I try to keep some quick projects on a list so when I don't really feel like working on a big project I can still get something done. For the past three days I've been working on my Mystery BOM, January clue. I've hit a bump in the road and I just don't have any desire to go to the sewing room. Perhaps tomorrow morning I'll wake up in the mood to hear the hum of my machine,, I sure hope so. What do you do to get yourself motivated when the blahs hit you?
Hope to hear from you soon
LuannLuann Fischerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04888586396647824524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5129170031725082816.post-50196104242915102092016-01-10T19:39:58.103-05:002016-01-10T19:39:58.103-05:00Congratulations, Luann.
